Tuesday, April 12, 2005

Precise Biometrics has initiated a partnership with Iridian Technologies, OmniPerception and Sharp, which has resulted in a multi-biometric Match-on-Card solution on the Sharp’s SJCard. Based on Precise Match-on-Card(TM), and through the new partnerships with Iridian Technologies, Precise Biometrics is now able to present as the first company in the world a complete multibiometric Match-on-Card solution. Precise Match-On-Card(TM) technology offers a secure solution that enables storage and matching of fingerprints, irises and faces directly on a smart card with a common application interface. This provides enhanced security, simplifies scalability and lowers infrastructure costs.

Precise Match-on-Card(TM) and Sharp’s smart cards, SJCard 211, are particularly suitable for use in ID card and passport projects, as more than one biometry is frequently called for. The partnership with Sharp is a result from the cooperation with silex technology, Precise Biometrics’ partner in Japan.

“The market demands both multibiometrics and Match-on-Card. By working together with Iridian Technologies and OmniPerception, we are in a position of being the first and only company to offer Match-on-Card with multibiometric support on one and the same card - Precise Match-on-Card(TM).

“The partnership with Sharp has allowed us to carry out the first implemen- tation on a platform that is very competitive, not just in Japan but in all markets where passports and ID cards that use multibiometrics are to be implemented.” says Christer Bergman President & CEO for Precise Biometrics.

At CardTech SecurTech April 12-14, exhibition stand 215, Mandalay Bay Convention, Las Vegas, USA, Precise Match-on-Card(TM) including Iridian Technologies KnoWho(R) and OmniPerception Affinitya, will be on display for the first time all integrated on a single card and with a common application interface.

“Match-on-Card provides another opportunity to further expand the rapidly accelerating iris deployments around the world,” stated Frank Fitzsimmons, CEO fPrecise Match-On-Card(TM) technology offers a secure solution that enables storage and matching of fingerprints, irises and faces directly on a smart card with a common application interface. This provides enhanced security, simplifies scalability and lowers infrastructure costs. or Iridian Technologies. “The Precise Match-on-Card(TM) offering is another example of how Iridian’s Iris Recognition Technology continues to drive value in providing increased convenience at decreasing cost.”

“We are delighted to licence our world-leading face recognition technology alongside the expertise delivered by Iridian Technologies and Sharp to help provide Precise Match-on-Card(TM) with multibiometric support,” comments David McIntosh, CEO, OmniPerception. “It is of the utmost importance, given the current concerns over homeland and international security, that robust and forward-thinking security solutions can be found. OmniPerception is delighted to be participating in the creation of such a solution.” [end]
