Open Security Exchange Fortifies Security Industry with Convergence Leadership at ASIS International Conference

ORLANDO, FL – 8 September 2005 – The Open Security Exchange (OSE) continues to lead the security industry to new opportunities and market expansion by providing critical perspectives, recommendations, and solutions related to the convergence of physical security with IT.

The ASIS International Annual Conference prominently showcases the theme of convergence with IT. More than 40 companies will feature solutions specially tailored for the convergence of physical security and IT. Meanwhile, members of the OSE and the OSE Convergence Council will share the insights and findings of the OSE throughout the week in Orlando.

OSE Member Companies CoreStreet, GE Infrastructure, Fargo, HID, and Software House/Tyco will feature convergence solutions, best practices, and strategic partners in their respective exhibit hall booths. Included will be information about the Federal government’s requirements for smart cards and single, smart IDs for physical and logical access. Also showcased will be a variety of technologies to bridge the gap between physical security and logical access control and identity management.

ASIS President-Elect Jeff Spivey says, “The OSE compliments the convergence activities of ASIS by translating our best practices into recommendations to the manufacturers.”

In addition, immediately following Retired General Colin Powell’s Keynote on Tuesday, OSE board advisor, Steve Hunt, President of 4A International, will present “The Soft Side of Convergence is Hardest of All”. This seminar will explain how to overcome inhibitors to success of projects requiring the cooperation of physical security with IT. Look for this seminar on Tuesday, September 13, at 11:00 a.m. in Room 314B.

OSE Convergence Council member Adam Stanislaus, CSO of First Data Corporation, will share his insights during the Best Practices Panel on Convergence Strategy, being held on Monday, September 12, at 1:30 p.m. in Room 312C.

Prior to the conference, Cygnus Publications will host OSE Board Advisor Hunt and other industry experts in a roundtable breakfast titled “Bits & Bytes for Security Types” on Wednesday, September 13, at 6:30 a.m. at the Peabody Hotel.
