Security provider Lenel Systems International has launched IdentityDefender, a commercial, off-the-shelf security solution that is FIPS-201 and HSPD-12 compliant. Flexible, end-to-end solution for issuing and managing identity credentials was designed for use in both government and commercial applications

ROCHESTER, N.Y.–Lenel Systems International Inc. has announced the release of IdentityDefender, a commercial, off-the-shelf solution for issuing identity credentials to trusted individuals using a secure process. IdentityDefender fulfills the federal requirements of FIPS 201 and HSPD-12, which establish a universal identification standard for U.S. government employees and contractors to provide access to both physical and logical resources. Lenel, a global leader in the development of integrated solutions, is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

The flexibility of IdentityDefender’s modular design permits organizations to implement either the full end-to-end solution or individual components, as needs dictate. Component modules will integrate seamlessly into the organization’s current infrastructure to maximize its technology investments. Once an identity credential has been issued, IdentityDefender manages the life cycle of the credential for the existing physical and logical security systems.

Lenel is included on the General Services Administration (GSA) Approved Product List for FIPS 201, identifying the company as a certified supplier to government organizations seeking to implement FIPS 201-compliant solutions.
