MaskTech Receives Common Criteria EAL4+ Certificate for it’s ICAO ePassport and eID Chip Operating System MTCOS

Nuremberg, February 20, 2007

Reinforcing it’s commitment to IT security for public sector customers, MaskTech today announced it has obtained the Common Criteria EAL4+ (Evaluation Assurance Level) high certification for its operating system software MTCOS Standard & Professional V2.0. The certificate has been issued by the German BSI - Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (Federal Office for Information Security).

As the number of federal agencies mandating certification for embedded software products used in the electronic documents industry steadily increases, the Common Criteria program is expected to benefit other security-conscious customers around the world.

MaskTech is investing significantly in common criteria certifications in order to supply governments and large enterprise customers with software that meets and exceeds the strict standards of the Common Criteria certification process.

“As the federal government increases its use of mobility solutions that are securely integrated, the importance of Common Criteria certification will continue to increase.” Said Matthias Brüstle, security expert and General Manager of MaskTech.

To date, MASKTECH has earned Common Criteria certification for:

MTCOS Standard & Professional V2.0 operating system on NXP P5CD072V0Q - EAL 4+ high (BSI-DSZ-CC-0384)

In addition, MaskTech has plans for near-term investments in the Common Criteria certification for other ePassport and national ID solutions and software in its portfolio.
