Good security as simple as a colored badge

New security technology has developed badges that start out one color, then change. The “Tempbadges” are products of Brady People ID, and the technology also is available in items ranging from wristbands to parking permits. Clients include museums, government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and hospitals. Timed badges work by affixing a chemically treated name tag onto a backing that contains another chemical. The reaction lets different colors and bars show through when the environment changes or too much time has elapsed. Time increments range from 4 hours to 30 days. Ultraviolet badges change – from white to purple, for instance – when the sun’s rays hit them.
