LaserCard receives national ID card contract

LaserCard Corp. announced a follow-on purchase order to supply identity cards for the national ID program of a Middle Eastern nation. The $1.9 million order calls for the continued supply of optical smart cards to be issued via approximately 40 issuance offices in cities throughout the country.

This order is a follow-on to an earlier $11 million contract under which LaserCard Corporation supplied cards, installed the first 20 issuance sites, and provided services including the development, integration, and supply of the personalization systems and operator training. Deliveries are expected to be completed in the June quarter. [end] 

Accurate Biometric announced it has been awarded a contract from the FBI for its Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS).

The contract is a significant one for Accurate as it enables them to offer same-day FBI fingerprint submission services for criminal background checks to clients such as housing authorities, Indian reservations and banks.

Suprema announced that its RealScan-G10 and RealScan-10 line of fingerprint scanners have received final certification from the Government of India’s Standardization Testing & Quality Certification (STQC) to be part of the country’s Unique ID (UID) project.

The government of Saudi Arabia has increased the requirements for its national ID cards.

Provided by LaserCard the Saudi smart card IDs are now based on LaserCard’s Optical Security Media (OSM) technology. Saudi citizens use them for identification, e-government and travel throughout the region.

Campus card provider NuVision Networks, Napa, Calif., has named Brian Adoff as the company’s new executive vice president.

Adoff, formerly NuVision’s national sales manager, will now oversee company-wide operations and develop strategic partnerships.

LaserCard Corporation announced receipt of an order for approximately $8.6 million for optical security media cards to be issued under the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Permanent Resident Card, or Green Card, program. Delivery is scheduled for completion in August.
