FEMA’s Summer Sizzle comes to the IAB
It’s supposed to be a high of 88 degrees in Washington on Thursday, but there may some extra sizzle in the air if FEMA has anything to say about it.
FEMA will be performing a portion of its Summer Sizzle demonstration at this month’s IAB. IAB attendees, who choose to participate, will be electronically scanned at the entrance to the GSA Auditorium beginning at 8 am EDT.
As in previous FEMA demonstrations, there will be two lines for those who want to participate in the Summer Sizzle demonstration. One will enable cardholders to electronically validate their FIPS 201 compliant or interoperable credential. The other line will be for those without a PIV credential. Attendees will electronically scan their state-issued drivers license in order to compare the machine-readable code on the card to the visual data on the document.
An electronic manifest will be developed for those that choose to participate in the demonstration, which will be displayed during Craig Wilson’s briefing at the IAB meeting. Wilson is coordinator with the National Preparedness Directorate in the National Capital Region with FEMA.
The IAB meeting is scheduled to take place from 9:00 am to 12:00pm EDT at the General Services Administration Auditorium located at 1800 F Street NW in Washington DC. ![[end]](/resources/bullet/secureidnews-4.gif)
