TSA approves Intelli-Check Mobilisa ID reader

Intelli-Check - Mobilisa Inc. announced that their IM2700 Transportation Worker Identification Credential Handheld Reader completed the Department of Homeland Security’s Initial Capability Evaluation scenarios demonstration.

With the completion, the IM2700 has been placed on the DHS’s published product list. The nation’s ports will use this published reference list to select products for evaluation and use for the upcoming TWIC requirements mandated by Congress.

The IM2700 can access ID card information via several methods including: 1D and 2D barcodes, magnetic stripe, smart chip, proximity or RFID and biometrics. [end] 

GAO RFID has released a Wiegand-to-Ethernet RFID controller designed specifically for door access applications.

The network access controller, model 491018, is able to connect to any type of Wiegand reader such as magnetic stripe reader, RFID reader or fingerprint reader. It also offers a master card for adding or deleting access privileges directly from the external reader, thus acting independently without connection to a network or PC.
