Intercede offers Smart Cards in Government Conference participants rides on Washington Metro
Intercede, a London-based supplier of HSPD-12/PIV/FIPS-201 compliant identity and credential management systems to the U.S. Federal Government, is issuing those attending the Smart Card Alliance’s Smart Cards In Government Conference a transit card good for travel on the Washington Metro. The company will be participating in the conference, which runs from Oct. 22-24, both as an exhibitor and a sponsor.
Since October 2006, Intercede’s MyID Identity and Credential Management System has been selected by more than ten federal agencies for the deployment of smart cards to more than 300,000 employees and contractors. A further 500,000 MyID managed smart cards have been deployed under U.S. government mandates to non-federal employees.
Within 18 months, Intercede anticipates its MyID system will be managing more than two million civilian identities and credentials for U.S. Homeland Security purposes, making the company one of the largest suppliers of civilian identity and credential management systems in the U.S. Government marketplace.
In the morning conference session Oct. 23, Dr Chris Edwards, Intercede CTO, will be presenting a paper on the “Technical Challenges for Interoperability of Identity Credentials at the Card Management Level.” ![[end]](/resources/bullet/secureidnews-4.gif)
