Thursday, November 13, 2008 in News

Honeywell has announced the OmniAssure biometric reader, part of the OmniAssure contactless smart card reader range, which uses fingerprints and contactless smart cards to enable access control.

Users are enrolled on the access control reader. Just use the enrollment card supplied with the reader to store the fingerprint template on the user’s card. Up to two fingerprints can be stored on the Mifare card. The reader communicates via Wiegand interface and is applicable on virtually any access control panel using Wiegand. [end]
