Monday, November 17, 2008

Intercede announces partnership with Operational Research Consultants, Inc., a subsidiary of WidePoint Corp. Under this contract ORC will resell and support MyID solutions and services to U.S. federal, state and commercial customers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A number of ORC customers already use Intercede’s MyID powered services, including the United Space Alliance, Federal Trade Commission, Federal Housing Finance Administration and the Federal Election Commission. The credentials they use are fully compliant with FIPS 201.

Under a separate agreement, ORC is using Intercede MyID to deliver medium hardware assurance credentials and associated certificates to contractors that service the U.S. military. As part of an early stage deployment, ORC has already purchased several thousand Intercede MyID licenses for deployment for access to selected U.S. military bases. [end]

The upgrades included in the new service pack are bringing Personal Identification Verification (PIV), PIV-I and PIV-C credential issuance into one system. Additional upgrades in the service pack are aimed at reducing time and costs involved in help desk functions by improving card expiration date control, policy control, offline unlock, self-service PIN reset and reinstating and re-provisioning of cards all from the system GUI.
