MaskTech receives certification

Monday, November 17, 2008 in News

The German BSI (Federal Office for Information Security) awarded and accredited MaskTech’s MTCOS Pro V2.0 on ST19NR66 Common Criteria EAL4+ according to ISO/IEC 15408:2005. The certification is for operating systems used for electronic passport and identification credentials.

MaskTech already had been awarded certification on two NXP platforms in 2007 for basic access control and 2008 for extended access control. The company is preparing customer specific certifications for Schengen member countries and their delivery chain as well as for new silicon platforms.

Under Common Criteria, products are evaluated against standards that validate the product’s security, design process, development environment, functionality, vulnerability handling, testing and documentation. This is the third security certification for MTCOS in the passport market. [end]
