Oberthur receives PIV order

Oberthur Technologies received its first large-volume order for its federally certified dual interface cards from the U.S. government.

The dual interface card, named ID One Cosmo v5.5 128K D, is a single chip multi-application smart card micro-controller with two communication interfaces - contact and contactless. It is designed for identity and government market needs.

The ID One Cosmo is certified by the U.S. and Canadian Governments. Oberthur Technologies manufacturers cards for more than 75 federal agencies and government-sponsored programs including the Department of Defense’s Common Access Card, Transportation Worker Identification Credential and Registered Traveler. [end] 

Banca Monte Paschi Belgio, the Belgian branch of this banking group, has opted to implement Oberthur Technologies’ end-to-end smart authentication product.

Certified by MasterCard, the solution includes smart display cards, an authentication server and an access control server that will secure e-commerce services and provide a unique and innovative payment solution to Banca Monte Paschi Belgio customers.
