Prime Factors, Thales renew partnership
Card personalization provider Prime Factors, Eugene, Ore. has renewed its partnership with Thales that includes product information exchange, joint marketing and a reseller agreement enabling Prime Factors to sell Thales Host Security Modules (HSMs). The agreement also includes joint marketing activities that target secure personalization bureaus and companies that create secure credit, debit, prepaid and gift cards.
Prime Factors develops the Bank Card Security System (BCSS), which is designed to work with the Thales HSM 8000 to meet security requirements established by Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
The agreement with Thales gives Prime Factors the right to sell the Thales HSM 8000 hardware encryption device in North America. Prime Factors recently released BCSS version 3.0, which supports Thales’ new firmware functionality that provides data preparation for contactless cards and EMV-based cards.
