Gemalto wins Austin Business Journal Tech Innovation Award

French digital security provider Gemalto’s Smart Enterprise Guardian has won the Tech Innovation Award for Hardware from the Austin Business Journal. Jointly developed by Gemalto and Lexar, the SEG is a multipurpose enterprise security device that allows employees to secure remote access to their networks and protect information they store on portable devices.

The Guardian, developed by Gemalto North America at its Austin, Texas. plant, combines strong authentication, digital signatures, encrypted flash storage and encryption tools for desktop or laptop files. It also has built-in support in Microsoft Vista using Gemalto’s .NET technology. [end] 

Gemalto has announced that its “Allynis” Trusted Service Manager (TSM) solution has been selected to securely manage transactions on the Isis mobile commerce platform.

Isis, the mobile commerce joint venture between Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, will enable U.S. customers to pay, present loyalty cards, and redeem coupons all with a tap of their NFC-enabled phones. According to Sébastien Cano, seniro vice president at Gemalto North America, the TSM solution will enable Isis to securely deliver mobile payments along with a host of NFC services, including access control and mass transit in addition to couponing and loyalty.
