French digital security provider Gemalto’s Smart Enterprise Guardian has won the Tech Innovation Award for Hardware from the Austin Business Journal. Jointly developed by Gemalto and Lexar, the SEG is a multipurpose enterprise security device that allows employees to secure remote access to their networks and protect information they store on portable devices.

The Guardian, developed by Gemalto North America at its Austin, Texas. plant, combines strong authentication, digital signatures, encrypted flash storage and encryption tools for desktop or laptop files. It also has built-in support in Microsoft Vista using Gemalto’s .NET technology.
