Finmeccanica joins Transglobal Secure Collaboration Program

Thursday, February 5, 2009

Italian aerospace and defense contractor Finmeccanica joined the Transglobal Secure Collaboration Program (TSCP), a government-industry partnership focused on designing solutions to address the issues facing the aerospace and defense industry: mitigating the compliance, complexity, cost and IT security risks inherent in large-scale, multi-national collaborative programs.

As a platinum member of the TSCP, Finmeccanica will contribute to the development and implementation of new information security specifications that enable defense firms and government partners to team on projects without jeopardizing classified and sensitive information. Finmeccanica will contribute a team of IT architects to the TSCP’s security initiatives and will sit on the TSCP’s Governance Board, giving the company a voice in the overall direction of the program.

The TSCP is working to define specifications for secure collaboration, information sharing and identity assurance in mission-critical environments. Members include the U.S. Department of Defense, U.K. Ministry of Defence, Netherlands Ministry of Defence, BAE Systems, Boeing, EADS, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon and Rolls Royce [end]

Fraud prevention, authentication and transaction verification provider has joined “Get Safe Online,” a UK initiative that promotes safe and secure Internet use.

The program is a venture between the UK government, law enforcement, private enterprise and the public and aims to give free advice to individuals and small businesses to build their awareness and show them the tools for proper Internet safety and security.
