Cryptomathic tapped for card personalization

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

The National Bank of Umm Al Quwain has deployed Cryptomathic’s data preparation system CardInk and OMA Emirates’ personalization software NanoPerso for the issuance of its debit and credit card portfolio.

CardInk is both a hardware security module and card platform independent, enabling flexibility for any card issuing environment, supporting GlobalPlatform, Multos and native cards.

CardInk generates the personalization data, including all cryptographic data, for the issuer’s chip and magnetic stripe payment cards. The data is passed to OMA Emirates’ personalization software, which drives the bank’s in-house personalization systems and ensures that data generated by CardInk is personalized appropriately for both MasterCard and Visa EMV cards.

This solution ensures that data generation, key management and personalization is undertaken within a secure environment that is easy to operate. [end]
