Trusted Labs, a security consulting and evaluation services, has become the latest organization to join GlobalPlatform, the international specification body for smart card infrastructure.

Joining at participating member level, Trusted Labs will play an role in GlobalPlatform’s Card Committee, where it will contribute to the evolution of interoperable smart card specifications as well as support GlobalPlatform’s efforts towards developing an open compliance ecosystem. Trusted Labs will also have the opportunity to take part in GlobalPlatform’s Advisory Council, provide input to both the mobile and government task forces and will have voting privileges in matters that come before the membership.

GlobalPlatform's upcoming card training session to focus on mobile

GlobalPlatform announced that it will hold a two-day card specification training session March 1-2 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

Directly preceding CARTES North America 2012 (March 5-7, Las Vegas), the training session will aim to educate CARTES delegates and other participants on the importance of GlobalPlatform Specifications, their capabilities and functionality.

GlobalPlatform and SIMalliance have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to improve application security on mobile devices.
