Monday, January 11, 2010

GlobalPlatform has announced that it will hold a one-day card specification training session at The Langham Hotel, Hong Kong on March 16, to educate delegates on the benefits of adopting open and interoperable specifications for mobile UICC implementations. The session will coincide with Cartes in Asia, March 16-18, to accommodate delegates that are attending this new regional industry gathering.

The standards body also announced that Feitian Technologies, a provider of smart card and chip operating system-based security technologies and applications, joined the organization as an observer member. Feitian Technologies is entitled to stay informed of developments within the organization through participation in the advisory council. Additionally, the company will contribute to the GlobalPlatform Mobile Task Force.

The training session at Cartes in Asia will be delivered by an experienced GlobalPlatform instructor in English and is designed to improve knowledge of the organization’s technology and the benefits gained from implementing a standardized smart card infrastructure.

The session will outline GlobalPlatform’s suite of card specifications as well as its UICC Configuration - a technical guide which outlines a common and neutral environment to facilitate the secure delivery over-the-air of new and creative mobile services to consumers. It will also reveal GlobalPlatform’s forthcoming technical releases.

The cost of the training session is $995 for GlobalPlatform members and $1,295 for APSCA members and EMVCo subscribers. The cost for all other attendees is $1,495. Only a limited number of seats are available to ensure a dynamic learning environment. To view the full agenda or to register your attendance, please visit here[end]
