OpenTrust implements all-in one security card solution

OpenTrust, a Next-Gen IT security software publisher, announced that it has partnered with a global corporate and investment banking provider to implement an all-in-one solution for one user to log on to multiple work stations using smart cards.

The OpenTrust PKI and SCM project involved equipping 15,000 traders with smart cards to guarantee authentication to all financial terminals and applications. Participating traders used the cards to quickly log on to multiple work stations at once while maintaining full regulatory compliance.


According to Open Trust,The Multiple Workstation Login and Single Sign-On capabilities embedded in the all-in-one smart card allow traders to log in immediately and securely, on all their workstations and subsequent applications, granting them precious extra time that would have otherwise been wasted. [end] 

ActivIdentity announced that idOnDemand is using its ActivID Card Management System to simplify the issuance and management of digital credentials on smart cards.

idOnDemand is using ActivIdentity’s system as the back-bone of its cloud-based service in order to better issue, distribute, and manage digital certificates on smart ID cards for physical, logical, remote and online authentication services.

SCM Microsystems Inc. announced that its portfolio of smart card readers now support Microsoft’s soon to be released operating system, Windows 7, as well as Windows Server 2008 R2. The readers also are compliant with Windows Logo Kit 1.4, which provides everything necessary to certify devices for Windows.

The redesigned UK passport has been released and features improved security features and iconic images from across the country.

The new 10-year passport will start being issued in October, with pages of the passport containing well-known UK scenes, including the White Cliffs of Dover, the Gower Peninsula, Ben Nevis and the Giant’s Causeway.
