L-1 awarded $18m contract

L-1 Identity Solutions, a developer of biometric technology, has been awarded a contract valued at $18 million and spanning seven years from the State of New Jersey.

The contract stipulates the development of a system for biometrically secure driver’s licenses as well as six years of producing the ID cards. As L-1 had landed a near $195 million contract with the U.S. Department of State late in 2009 for production systems of biometric passports, this new contract furthers L-1’s experience in rolling out ID programs. [end]

Stanley awarded Army contract

Digital Identification Solutions receives $5M driver license order

Digital Identification Solutions announced it has received purchase orders from three separate driver license programs.

The first of the orders is from L-1 Identity Solutions for the State of Kentucky, and another is from 3M for the State of Arkansas. Furthermore, the State of South Carolina, a customer for several years, has also decided to extend its current install base.

The contract stipulates for L-1 to develop a next generation technology for use in a four-finger slap image capture mobile biometric device.
