Tuesday, May 18, 2010

LaserCard Corporation has announced it will present its newly released multi-technology smart card solution at the Smart Card Alliance 2010 Conference, May 17-20 in Scottsdale, AZ.

The new ID solution features counterfeit-resistant optical security media coupled with other mainstream smart card technologies on a single card, tailored specifically for the needs of government ID programs around the world.

According to LaserCard, interest in multi-technology ID cards is increasing among governments worldwide as they seek to combine multi-functionality with high security in applications ranging from Patient ID to e-government to border crossing.

So far, LaserCard has delivered its multi-technology solution for the new U.S. Green Card, the first of which were issued just this past week, and the Carabinieri (Italian Police Force). [end]
