Probaris updates software

Probaris Inc. announced the availability of Probaris ID 3.0, its product for issuing and managing interoperable identity credentials.

Probaris ID 3.0 complies with the standards for Personal Identity Verification Interoperability as specified in FIPS 201 and the supporting PIV-I documents. The software enables government and industry to issue high-assurance, interoperable credentials that meet a range of enterprise access and cybersecurity needs. A single interoperable identity credential can be used to secure networks, applications, devices and buildings.


Probaris ID 3.0 is available as an enterprise solution for PIV and PIV-I credential enrollment, issuance, and lifecycle management. The product has been deployed in multiple federal enterprises for issuing identity credentials to comply with the HSPD-12 mandate.

Probaris ID has recently become available as part of a managed service offering. Customers can now purchase Probaris ID 3.0 on a subscription basis, without the cost of hosting additional secure servers and databases. Through a partnership with a customers can purchase PIV-I credentials based on an Identity as a Service (IDaaS) model.

Probaris ID 3.0 expands and updates its identity workflow to facilitate the creation of identity data stores, creation of standards-based interoperable identities and binding them to multipurpose identity credentials. [end]
