HID releases updated card personalization software

HID Global announced the release of Asure ID 7, the latest update to its card personalization suite of software. Building on the Asure ID 2009 software, Asure ID 7 features new navigational and printing capabilities designed to simplify the process of card issuance from entry-level uses to more sophisticated secure credential applications.

HID Global’s Asure ID 7 is a line of card personalization software that is aims to be simple to learn and incorporates features to improve the issuance and management of photo IDs for any type or size of organization. The latest software release includes new features to the user interface, while still utilizing the familiar Microsoft Ribbon look and feel that is built on the Microsoft .NET technology platform for stability and interoperability.


New Asure ID 7 features include the addition of Swift ID template importing, resin panel capabilities, iCLASSÒ encoding support and a feature that automatically notifies users of updates. Enhancements have been made to the reporting engine and to the iDIRECTOR module that enables users to build custom reports and easily integrate unique applications to both iCLASS and MIFARE cards.

Asure ID 7 includes four versions tailored to the needs and sizes of an organization:

  • Asure ID Solo: Aimed for entry-level card personalization, Solo is loaded with features to improve the issuance and basic management of photo IDs.
  • Asure ID Express: Targeted for organizations looking for affordable photo ID card software with advanced card design and batch printing capabilities.
  • Asure ID Enterprise: Featuring Live Link for large organizations that require multiple workstations to share a common database over a network in real time.
  • Asure ID Exchange: Designed for the most sophisticated secure credential applications combining Live Link advanced database support and iDIRECTOR technology card design for smart card deployment.

Asure ID 7 is available now and as a free upgrade to currently registered users of Asure ID 2009. New customers are also eligible for a free 30-day trial. [end] 

Barnes International announced that its updated Visa GPR Test module now complies with the latest version of Visa’s Global Personalization Requirements.

The updated test tool will offer evaluation of a chip product to ensure it meets industry and payment scheme certification standards. This reduces a product’s time to market as the chip is aligned to Visa Specifications throughout the development life cycle and before applying for official Visa approval.

Datacard Group, which issues secure ID and card personalization solutions, has rolled out a multi-card buffer module for its MX2000 card issuance system. The main purpose of the new module is to hold cards in order to maintain data order when a reject occurs.
