NagraID announces ID card

Friday, October 28, 2011

NagraID will unveil the e-Service ID Card solution based on Password Authenticated Connection Establishment (PACE) at Cartes & Identification 2011 in Paris.

The PACE+ e-Service ID Display Card is aimed for the verification of documents such as national IDs, resident permits, driver licenses, health cards, weapon IDs, social security eligibility and more. The solution is available for implementation providing a solution for citizen ID, corporate ID and consumer ID applications.

The solution features NagraID’s e-Service ID Display Card, a smart card that incorporates a flexible LCD which displays a secure six-digit dynamic key at the press of an integrated button.

This password is sent together with the Card Authentication Number to a server via an existing channel and infrastructure, such as telephone, smart phone, walkie-talkie and computer, to obtain electronic identification and authentication. The dynamic code is unique to each card protecting the digital identities of the cardholder against counterfeits, manipulation and identity theft.

The main strength of the Password Authenticated Connection Establishment protocol is the use of existing network infrastructure to enable anywhere and anytime identification and authentication. [end]
