Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, a manufacturer of contactless smart credentials and readers, and Salamander Technologies, a supplier of tracking solutions and field-based incident management tools, are partnering to provide a new smart card-based solution for access control and personnel tracking.
The dual-purposed aptiQ smart card incorporates Salamander’s interTRAX suite of accountability solutions, resulting in a multi-function ID that provides daily access control and other smart card-based tasks within the building, as well as personnel tracking outside the building during planned events, natural disasters or emergencies.
“This new integration is a smart solution for organizations wanting to improve their ROI,” explained Russ Miller, president of Salamander Technologies. “Groups already using Ingersoll Rand’s aptiQ smart cards can now extend its functionality to include our accountability solution. Those just starting an identification program can get an ID with both solutions built in from the start.”
According to Salamander, the company’s tracking solution is used by more than 5,000 agencies nationwide for managing first responders, mutual aid, victims, evacuees, visitors and others.
