Companies create PIV sales alliance

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

Intercede Group plc and Oxford Computer Group LLC (OCG) have formed a strategic alliance to sell PIV products to non-Federal organizations in the United States.

Additionally, OCG has partnered with Gemalto, a current Intercede partner, so this alliance can also sell smart cards and associated components.

This alliance will offer a preconfigured, end-to-end PIV product targeted to state and local governments, as well as critical infrastructure businesses, who want to use the PIV standard to create credentials.

Products included in this partnership are Intercede’s MyID Identity and Credential Management System and MyID Management Agent for Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager 2010. OCG can use these tools to design, build and deploy identity and security credentials that are issued to PIV-I or PIV-C standards. [end]

ActivIdentity has modified its AcivID Credential Management System (CMS) appliance to contain the industry’s new Commercial Identity Verification (CIV) credential.

Developed by the Smart Card Alliance Physical Access Council, the PIV-level credential is designed for commercial enterprise use and replaces the PIV-C concept. ActivIdentity played a role in the Alliance’s new white paper on this topic, which defines the CIV credential and describes its benefits. The paper also discusses planning and implementation, as well as use cases and best practices.
