Smart Chip Limited receives CMMI certification

Smart Chip Limited, the Indian subsidiary of Morpho, has received the Software Engineering Institute’s certification for the Maturity 3 level of the Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development (CMMI-DEV).

As Security Document World reports, the CMMI method evaluates and measures the maturity of an organization’s development process and rates best practices for organizational functions like project management and organization management.


Smart Chip’s CMMI certification attests that its requirement management, decision making, measurement, planning and risk management processes are effective and can be duplicated for its entire line of products and services.

Gaming Partners International announced that it has received three orders to supply casino chips and plaques totaling just under $4.7 million.

The company will produce approximately 700,000 custom Bourgogne et Grasset (B&G) premium casino chips for Venetian Macau Limited’s Sands Macau and Sands Cotai properties. GPI will also produce over 80,000 B&G RFID plaques to Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (SJM)’s Grand Lisboa property.

Smart Packaging Solutions (SPS) announced it is ready to deliver its to smart card products to manufacturers in China.

This, following the Chinese Government, along with People’s Bank of China (PBOC) confirmation that all banking cards in China would use smart card technologies by 2015. PBOC has already published the specification for these cards, called PBOC 2.0, which includes the certification scheme.
