Accela Inc., an e-government software provider, has adapted its Security Permitting functionality into the Arabic version of the its Accela Automation enterprise software. Designed specifically for Middle Eastern organizations, this software gives users a turnkey approach for managing external requests for facility access, disseminating information about approved people and items to specific locations and sharing information about these sites.
Accela partnered with ActivIdentity for this development. The two demonstrated the new product at last month’s Esri Middle East & Africa Partner Conference held in Dubai. The demonstration showed an online process of applying for a security permit and visitor pass to a government facility via Accela Citizen Access, a product that lets businesses and residents apply, pay for and track permits online through a home or office computer or mobile device.
The Accela Automation product facilitated external and internal approvals for the application, using geospatial restrictions. Once approved, the ActivIdentity ActivID Card Management System imprinted the permit and other pertinent information onto an contactless smart card.
The product shortens application processing time and automates electronic authorization requests and other tasks associated with permitting, licensing, code enforcement, community development and planning, inspections and investigations, infrastructure asset management and emergency response, among others. The localized Arabic version supports regional standards for date formatting, currency symbols and text layout.
