Tampa, Fla.-based Ceelox Inc. has former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft touting the company’s technology. The fledgling biometrics firm has left the research and development stage and is now marketing its data security products.
The company has three different digital identification products that utilize biometrics. Ceelox ID authenticates a user before enabling access to a computer, network or file. Ceelox ID Online uses biometric authentication for access to online sites and K[id] uses fingerprint identification to authenticate and protect parents and children in child care environments and facilities.
Ceelox sponsored Ashcroft’s keynote address at InfoSec World 2008. Ceelox and The Ashcroft Group collaborate on security-related issues and defining appropriate biometric encryption measures for their clients under an alliance formed in 2007. The Ashcroft Group also holds an equity position in Ceelox and Ashcroft is a member of the company’s advisory board.
