Barclaycard awarded for contactless payment services

Barclaycard took home two prizes at the recent European Card Acquiring Forum (ECAF) Awards 2010, according to compareandsave.com.
The company was awarded the ECAF Channel gong for its work in improving the contactless payment experience for customers, and the Data Security gong for its commitment to increasing Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard compliance among its merchants.
According to Stuart Neal, UK director of Barclaycard Global Payment Acceptance, the awards acknowledge the company’s belief in contactless technology for the future of payments in the UK.
To date, Barclaycard has issued some 6 million contactless cards to its 19.2 million customers.
