Bode Technology has introduced its RFID tracking system to law enforcement agencies and crime laboratories in an effort to streamline work flows in the field of evidence tracking and analysis.
The new system will enable investigators and lab analysts to automate the tracking of case folders and forensic evidence to provide an accurate record of where each item is located and where it has been, and who has been handling it throughout the forensics process.
It doesn’t matter whether it is a case file or physical evidence such as a weapon, the system will create and maintain an electronic manifest of a sample’s movement from a crime scene through testing and storage.
This information can then be used in managing the chain-of-custody process to ensure evidence collected at crime scenes can be used for cases in court at municipal, state and federal agencies.
