Ingenico is working together with Cajasiete, a financial services provider based in Canary Islands, Spain, on the deployment wireless terminals to support a new program of contactless payments at throughout the islands.
Cajasiete has issued more than 5,000 of its SINcontacto cards, offering customers contactless payments using Visa payWave technology. For the initial roll out, 645 Ingenico terminals will be installed in more than 500 stores throughout all geographic areas of the islands.
The wireless terminals being used for the project belong to Ingenico’s iWL220 family of payment terminals, which are compliant with most security standards, such as PCI PTS v2 and v3 for contact transactions or PayPass and payWave for contactless.
Cajasiete says it intends to extend the payment system to other stores and to more clients throughout the Canary Islands over the next few months.
