Hamburg, Germany’s DERMALOG Identification Systems has created middleware for its automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS). While enabling fingerprint logins through any type of software application, this product may help eliminate the need for usernames and passwords.
DERMALOG’s AFIS creates a login system based on biometric fingerprints. It functions on PCs via the DERMALOG FingerLogin keyboard or a USB-connected fingerprint scanner.
Along with login credentials, the FingerLogin System can be enabled for other applications such as entry access. The middleware adds in the integration process, allowing programmers to implement the system more quickly.
The system is targeted toward the financial services, health care and insurance markets. DERMALOG will be exhibiting this product at CeBIT 2012.
