DigitalPersona, Inc. has released its latest generation of biometric fingerprint sensors designed for mobile identification devices.
The DigitalPersona U.are.U 5100 family of fingerprint modules and readers are designed to give handheld terminals used in applications like voting the ability to read fingerprints efficiently while complying with biometric standards. This enables users to implement affordable, power friendly, longer lasting biometric mobile ID products.
DigitalPersona has also teamed with Smart ID to bring its PIV fingerprint reader to the Indian market, where it will be used in India’s UID project.
The U.are.U 5100 fingerprint modules and readers will be available for order on November 15. DigitalPersona will be demonstrating the readers at this week’s Biometrics 2012 Exhibition in Westminster, London.
