Ericsson, a Sweden-based provider of telecom equipment, has partnered with Aconite to enable banks to deliver and remotely manage contactless mobile payment applications on their customers’ NFC-enabled mobile phones.
The solution is based on the integration of Aconite’s Mobile Application Manager with Ericsson’s Trusted Service Manager (TSM) interfaces. It enables an issuer to create a security domain within the secure element in the NFC handset and to load, personalize, update or delete applets on that domain.
The solution also enables issuers to transfer data between their security domains within secure elements and the Aconite Mobile Application Manager in order to manage payment transactions, EMV scripts, prepaid top-ups and other transactions.
While intended for banks, the service can also be used by businesses and organizations to issue access, ID, loyalty, ticketing and proximity marketing applications, according to Ericsson.
