The Sequoyah Regional Library System in Canton, Georgia, received the 2007 Excalibur Award for small organizations for its use of Apex RFID technology, developed by the Integrated Technology Group (ITG).
The Excalibur Award, hosted by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and the Business and Technology Alliance, honors organizations that find exemplary ways to use technology to enhance operations and develop a competitive edge. The award was presented at the Excalibur Award breakfast, sponsored by TAG, Pyramid Consulting and T-Mobile, on Oct. 17 at the InterContinental Hotel in Buckhead.
“The Sequoyah Regional Library System led the way in the small organization category demonstrating the innovative use of RFID to enhance efficiencies for the customer,” said Tino Mantella, president of the Technology Association of Georgia. “TAG judges, in reviewing the SRLS submittal, believed that RFID is something that will be replicated in libraries across the nation.”
