HID Global announced the debut of two new Glass Tag Ultra RFID transponders for animal identification and industrial applications.
The HID Global design featured in the Glass Tag Ultra 134.2 kHz transponders use direct bonding technology and optimized chip placement to enable a boost of performance. Read ranges are improved by up to 35% compared to low frequency glass tags of the similar size.
The tag’s compact sizes range from 0.35 inches to 0.5 inches long with 0.08 in diameter, and its biocompatible glass enclosures ensure the transponders may be safely implanted on animals of any size and industrial applications that require high read ranges.
Expanding its Animal ID Glass Tag family, these new HID transponders also enable specialized use cases like fish identification. All tags are ISO 11784 and 11785 compliant and provide unlimited resistance to water and chemical exposure.
