Isra Cards launches Mifare Plus smart card

French card manufacturer Isra Cards has announced the release of its new contactless smart card, the Mifare Plus.
According to Isra, the new smart card features an integrated ‘CPU’ chip designed to provide companies with advanced security and privacy without having to change their system to be compatible with new Mifare Plus technology.
The card also comes with more storage space than the Mifare Classic and features a Common Criteria EAL 4+ encryption system.
Acccording to Isra, the Mifare Plus has already been approved by the U.S. Government for document encryption, but possible applications vary from public transportation, access control and parking to student and employee ID, toll payment, or loyalty.
