LaserCard has received the Élan Award at the International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA) annual conference this past month. This award represents the “Best I.D. Card Design.” LaserCard’s winning entry was its LaserPass Access card produced for Tesla Motors, a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of electric cars. The secure access optical memory card is used for building access by Tesla in its corporate headquarters in San Carlos, California, as well as in other facilities.

Mountain View, CA – LaserCard Corporation, a leader in highly secure multi-biometric ID cards, announced that it received the prestigious Élan Award at the ICMA (International Card Manufacturers Association) annual conference and expo that took place in San Diego on October 14 to 17.
The award for “Best I.D. Card Design” was given for, in the words of the organizers: “The most attractive, beautiful or striking card used for I.D. purposes based on aesthetics of printed surface design as well as technical advances to meet security and customer needs.” LaserCard’s entry was also a finalist in ICMA’s “Judges’ Choice” category in which Élan judges select their favorite card from all entries received in all categories.
