AeroScout announced that Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is using its Wi-Fi RFID asset management and temperature monitoring solutions to track and manage critical medical equipment.
Using AeroScout MobileView software, the academic medical center’s staff can find items and ensure that equipment is available when and where it is needed. OHSU uses AeroScout Asset Management to quickly locate mobile medical equipment, such as infusion pumps, hospital beds and wheelchairs, throughout its facilities.
The academic medical center is tracking and managing more than 2,500 assets throughout nine of its inpatient buildings, with plans to add another 1,000 items by year-end.
In addition to equipment tracking, OHSU is wirelessly monitoring the temperature of refrigerators and freezers, as well as the ambient temperatures in many rooms and locations. The solution automatically records the temperature of each refrigerator or room at regular intervals, alleviating the nursing, lab and pharmacy staff of the task of manually tracking temperature readings.
