Mobile app enables thieves to steal info from NFC phones

A new mobile app for NFC smart phones has been created that enables thieves to steal sensitive data from contactless payment cards, according to SC Magazine.
Built by security researcher Thomas Skora, the “paycardreader” app skims payment card information, including card numbers, dates, transactions and merchant IDs.
The app was built to reveal the dangers of storing personal information on mobile phones, and was intended only as a “technical demonstration,” according to Skora.
