There’s much to be excited about RFID health-market players, reports Healthcare IT News.
RFID, a nearly $300 million market in the U.S. healthcare industry in 2007, is expected to “experience explosive growth” over the next five years, according to market data from Kalorama Information.
In fact, it’ll reach more than $1 billion by 2010 and $3.1 billion by 2012.
In its new report, “RFID Opportunities in Healthcare in the US”, Kalorama Information suggests that growth in the healthcare market will occur as issues of network infrastructure scalability, interoperability, and the relatively high costs of implementation are resolved.
