The Smart Card Alliance Identity Council and Access Control Council have released educational resources to help individuals and organizations learn more about PIV, PIV-I and CIV credentials.
For a general overview of the three credentials, the alliance published a brief that compares the three types in terms of policies, processes and technical features.
The alliance has also release a white paper containing case studies about PIV-I, featuring examples of projects from Booz Allen Hamilton, SAIC, XTec Incorporated and the Commonwealth of Virginia. The case studies explore the organization’s choice of PIV-I, best practices and lessons learned around deployment and benefits of implementation.
The Smart Card Alliance also plans to offer an educational workshop on secure identity credentialing at the end of March at the ISC West conference in Las Vegas.
