The Smart Card Alliance plans to lead a secure identity credentialing workshop and a certification training course and exam for the Smart Card Certified Industry Professional/Government (CSCIP/G) designation at this year’s ISC West conference and expo held March 27-30 in Las Vegas.
Put together by the Smart Card Alliance Educational Institute and led by the Smart Card Alliance Access Control Council, the workshop, entitled “Standards-Based Secure Identity Credentials: Leveraging the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Specifications for Commercial Credentialing Programs,” will take place on March 27. The all-day workshop will help businesses understand PIV, PIV-I and CIV credentials and the physical and logical access applications needed for a credentialing program.
On March 29, the SCA will offer an all-day training session on CSCIP/G that will cover advanced topics in smart card technology, security and application management, identity management and access control, and U.S. government PIV credentialing. The following morning, the Alliance will proctor the CSCIP/G certification exam.
Those wishing to take the certification course and exam must qualify for the program and have completed the course prerequisites before sitting for the exam.
