Network security provider Stonesoft has released the 5.3 version of its StoneGate platform. The package, which includes StoneGate Firewall/VPN 5.3 and StoneGate Management Center 5.3 expands the platform’s security capabilities in three main areas.
In terms of access control, the StoneGate 5.3 platform gives network administrators new methods of access control in terms criteria that allow or deny network access and track user and application awareness.
Access and awareness can be determined through users, user groups, domain names, applications, TLS matches, URL categories and zones. Added filtering and cell editing enhancements aim to increase efficiency.
The platform also includes a new StoneGate Authentication Server that offers strong authentication for devices. Automatic user linking allows for transparent integration with existing user databases.
Stonesoft added additional features targeted toward mass deployment of network security. Network administrators will be able to deploy network security at remote sites through secure installation cloud service, plug and play installation, firewall element creation and initial policy push.
