The Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) has deployed NEC’s IntegraID Mobile Identification Solution (Mobile ID) for use by all Texas law enforcement agencies to quickly search the Texas DPS repository for real time positive identification.
The TxDPS Mobile ID database can handle biometric information for up to 9 million people. Data types it accepts include fingerprint feature data, demographics and photographs. The system maintains a real time connection to the TxDPS Automated Fingerprint Identification System and Computerized Criminal History.
Mobile ID incorporates the latest NEC NIST software matching algorithms. The system was installed in a fault tolerant, SOA redundant environment, using 100 percent COTS hardware.
The TxDPS hopes that this database will speed up the law enforcement process by allowing officers to access fingerprint databases remotely.
