Remember when, just the other day, a University of Virginia student made headlines for hacking into NXP Semiconductors’ MiFare chip?
Ken van Wyk, principal consultant at KRvW Associates, tells Computerworld, “It turns out it’s a pretty huge deal,” and notes that at least one European country has deployed military soldiers to guard some government facilities that use the MiFare Classic chip in their smart door key cards.
