USA Technologies releases next generation ePort Connect

category: Contactless, Financial, NFC
USA Technologies has rolled out a series of enhancements to its back-end payment and telemetry service, ePort Connect, that include faster credit and debit card authentication, over-the-air updates for customers using ePort devices, a streamlined device activation process and, coming soon, machine health alerts to notify operators via the Web or email of payment mechanism malfunctions, or out-of-stock conditions.
Another enhancement gives operators the ability to utilize different credit/debit card processors, and cashless technologies, from traditional swipe, to contactless, NFC and pre-paid loyalty and gift card offerings.
The authorization time for debit and credit cards, whether magnetic swipe or contactless, has been lowered to a few seconds while the over-the-air updates feature will allow operators to implement changes made to credit/debit card standards or to enable/disable device features remotely. The over-the-air solution also overcomes the need for operators to visit each cashless terminal to physically download updates and make the necessary changes.
USA Technologies bases ePort Connect, used in vending, kiosks and self-serve POS operations, on an open architecture, allowing the technology to collaborate and interface with other networks when transmitting data.
