Westminster to trial contactless parking meters

The Westminster City Council has agreed to pilot contactless parking meters starting early next year, when 20 meters that accept contactless credit/debit cards will be deployed in London’s West End. Parkeon is supplying the meters for the three-month trial.
Motorists hoping to use the contactless meters will only be allowed to pay for parking worth up to about $16 and will periodically be asked to enter their PIN in an effort to reduce fraud. According to Westminster City Council, more than four million contactless cards are in circulation in the UK.
